This is a fantastic book that is an essential for any child aged 4-5. Hopefully, if you are a parent of a youngster or two, you spend some time reading to your children. It is one of the best things you can do to promote their academic development and later achievement. If not, get to it!This book is great for kids. Kids typically enjoy being read to, anyway, but they enjoy it even more if the book is all about them! That is exactly what this book is: a book that they can fill in with details and pictures about themselves! Not only is it a fun book, but it easily becomes a family keepsake - much like a photo album or a great art project. This is a great book that never goes out of style and makes a great gift!
4/2017 Update: What a WONDERFUL keepsake this will be for our grandchildren! We LOVE Dr. Seuss in our home, where I'd babysat our three grandsons, prior to my daughter-in-law becoming a stay-at-home-mom (talk about a repeat of "empty next syndrome"!) When the oldest one began all day kindergarten years ago, we'd purchased this book and - seeing how much he enjoyed working on it - went ahead and purchased additional copies for the other two boys to have at the ready when it came their turn to start kindergarten. Well, I'm now coming back for a fourth copy of this terrific little book!We've collected every single Seuss children's book, but there are three books in particular that we've now ordered four copies of, because they can be personalized by the grandkids to make them truly "their own"! This one, along with "I Can Write! A Book by Me, Myself" and "I Can Draw It Myself, By Me, Myselff" will become treasured keepsakes, little "snapshots" of where they were developmentally that they can look back on one day with a smile.While the other two are terrific as well, this one is definitely our favorite. SIXTY pages just BRIMMING with fun facts your child fills in about him/herself, and be able to author his/her own little autobiography! This is somewhat along the lines of a baby book you'd receive as a baby shower gift, with pages where your child can trace his hand and foot, etc, but there's oh so much more in the way of fun facts for him/her to fill in to help them remember "where their head was at" at that age, with a little help from Dr. Seuss and many bright, colorful illustrations! Can't recommend this book highly enough!We've thoroughly enjoyed being able to so closely participate in and observe our grandkids' growth and development, and finding new ways to encourage both. These books have been fun tools to use toward that end. We truly treasure our little guys - we'd take a dozen more gladly!

I remember having this book as a child so when I saw they were still available, I I bought this for my youngest daughter, grandkids and a lil cousin who is the same age as my daughter. They absolutely love filling in these books with their information and ever more adding their picture to the front cover. Best customized book ever, without the hight price of personalization!

I purchased this book for my five year old nephew and he was thrilled. I used packing tape around the edges of the photo on the front cover to seal it securely. It looked great and he loved seeing his picture on the cover of the book. He enjoyed filling in the info inside too. This is a great gift to give a child.
My great-aunt gave me this book when I was around 8 years old. My 10 year old grand-daughter LOVES reading it. She reads it 2-3 times a week and laughs her head off. I purchased 3 of these this year to give to my oldest grand-children for Christmas. Ages 6, 9, and 10. I will give my youngest two the same book when they turn 6. I'm so glad she asked to read it. I am sure they will enjoy filling out their's
Bought one for each of my kiddos for the holidays, I had the same book 30 years ago. The kids both had SO much fun doing this. Measuring your foot, counting the number of windows and forks in your house, etc. Awesome gift for a birthday- probably best for over age 6.
I had this book as a child and unfortunately lost it due to a house fire. I was so happy to find this book to give to my 6 year old. Over the course of a week we've been filling it out. It's a fun book and I'm sure he'll get a few laughs out of it when he gets older! I will definitely be buying more for my other children and all the children in my life. It's a great gift to give any Elementary student.
