I have found answers to questions about German grammar more easily than from many other expensive guides. Gives you just enough information to understand the common forms and structure without over complicating the things you wont need to know until you are a very advanced student. Lays it out in a straightforward manner. I could have saved myself 40 bucks worth of grammar study books, if I had gotten this one first.I want to add, that this book will be most helpful to those who are not complete beginners in German, unless they have an excellent education in English grammar and structure first. Since actually teaching english grammar stopped in most American schools about twenty five years ago, this book may be confusing unless you first refresh your understanding of English grammar. If you are studying through Duolingo, this book will help you identify errors in the program, and explain some things that both Duolingo, and Rosetta Stone expect you to learn through trial and error.

This book is the real deal, mother language is Arabic and this book has taught me so much. Very simple and rich of information. The only thing I need is a native German to practice German with.
I've had many years of German only to find this the best book for understanding the complicated grammar.
There are no classes after a beginner German class at our high school evening classes, so I bought this book. It has been useful for keeping up my practice - a concept , like grammar, is presented, or a short list of vocabulary words or verbs each day to practice/learn, making study manageable. It is too much to learn in 90 days - this is a downside, but where I have taken a beginners class, there is enough overlap ( for me) where it is not too overwhelming to actually try to proceed through it day by day. The other downside, and this is true for any book based studying - is my pronunciation correct? I would definitely use this book to supplement a class.
I'm really enjoying this book, however I wouldn't recommend it to a complete beginner. I have a couple years of previous German instruction and this book really clarifies a lot of topics that were a bit cloudy for me at first. Each lesson is short but well explained. German can be confusing so I really like this aspect of the book. It explains the more difficult concepts simply, such as all the cases. You can't beat the price either!
excellent book - I am working on it, but find it an excellent learning tool - lots of handy hints and sensible easy-to-understand instructions. I would recommend it to anyone.
Liked it. Could be a bit more technical but maybe then I would read it as much. Just wanted to brush up on vocab and grammar. Make is more fun when watching 'Hogan's Heroes' and 'Combat' old TV shows. Hope to travel to Germany for the first time and I don't want to claim "I am a jelly roll" the way JFK did and his trip there. Enjoy the book and don't be too critical. Saying the words out loud is more and of course better for learning.Wiedersehen!
