I've bought this calendar for several years mostly because it has a great layout that is pleasing to the eye and easy to track. Unfortunately, this year the publishers decided to redesign. They have left out the lines between the days and made the font a lot smaller. The space between the days has shrunk because of the layout. Also, the paper is different and ink smears, which didn't happen in previous years. Not a glance-friendly product. So if you've bought this in the past, skip this year. Let's hope for 2015 these architects remember function is an important part of the design.
Have been using these for years and enjoy the variety of built environment photos. These days probably most people use an online calendar and engagement books are more for a changing display and quick reminder of week's happenings. That said, The decision for this year to not put lines between the days is mildly irritating. Don't think it adds to the aesthetic quotient and detracts slightly from the practical.
Due to the other reviews (lack of lines dividing the days) I bought another desk calendar first. But I missed the great photos of buildings and finally broke down and bought this calendar. Seems the photography is better than usual and the paper is heavy and nice. Hope they bring back the lines for next year.
I buy this every year. It keeps everything up to date and I love the pictures taken by AIA members. It is small enough to keep on my desk without being obtrusive and I can see a week at a time to plan my life.
The photos are, as usual, wonderful, but the paper quality makes ink smear and run. The cover is particularly impressive
